The Foodbank serves a melting pot of certified charitable community agencies that care for hungry people in need, from all walks of life.
From well-known nonprofits such as Parents of Watts and L.A. Dream Center, to little-known agencies such as Ecumenical Liberty and Lighthouse L.A., these agencies feed hundreds of thousands of hungry people everyday. Small agencies may feed 20 to 50 people, 5 days a week, while larger agencies may feed up to 1,500 people, 1 to 5 days each week.
For example, The Foodbank of Southern California serves for the following agencies:
- Child Care Centers
- Senior Centers
- Shelters for Abused Children and Women
- Foster Care
- Group Homes for Troubled Youth
- Homeless Shelters
- Emergency Box Programs
- Soup Kitchens
- Food Pantries
- Recovery Homes
- Church Hunger Programs
